A beautiful clear, dry evening this year for an enthusiastic crowd to enjoy the Christmas Lights switch-on in Emsworth, carols in the square and the arrival of Santa on Havant Rotary Club's magnificent sleigh.
A great start to the Christmas season in Emsworth!
The crowds joined in with Carols sung by children from local schools and Havant's Mayor and Havant Rotarian Councillor Faith Ponsonby accompanied by consort Michael Ponsonby were there to switch on the Christmas lights in the square as the brightly-lit and always popular sleigh processed through the town centre down to the quay. There he was called upon to switch on the lights illuminating the Lobster Pot tree on the quayside before retiring to his grotto to welcome children from all over who queued patiently in the cold to meet Santa.
