Young Musician - Area Round. Dutch Barn, Lower School, Whitchurch High School
Exceptional performances by both Instrumentalists & Vocalists
were the order of the night at the Rotary Area 4 Young Musician
Competition on the 12th of January at the Dutch Barn Concert hall in
Whitchurch High school.An audience of 50+ thoroughly enjoyed the
performances by the three instrumentalists and five vocalists sponsored
by five Area 4 Rotary clubs and organised by the Rotary Club of Cardiff
Breakfast. The professional, experienced adjudicators had a tough job
selecting the winner and runner up for both the Instrumental and Vocal
competitions.The winners now go forward to the District final on March
4th.
The photographs show firstly the Instrumental competitors
with in the middle the Winner Huw Boucher(Harp) and third from the
right the Runner Up Charlotte Kwok aged 10 (Piano). Secondly, the
Vocalist competitors with in the middle the Winner Manon Ogwen-Parry,
and second from right the Runner Up Linos Haf Jones.
The adjudicators for the Instrumental Competition were Christiana Mavron and Robert Codd. For the Vocal Competition the adjudicators were Enid Rosemary Davies and Rhian Owen.
