Associate Membership

A brand new way to experience Rotary

Can't Make a Commitment Right Now?

Joining Rotary carries a commitment to dedicate some time to the Club’s regular meetings and activities. While the Club will always want to recruit full active members, it recognises that some people may not feel they can make a full commitment from the outset.

Work or family  schedules may prevent regular attendance at our Monday meetings. Others may not be ready to jump fully into Rotary, but want to learn and experience more before making the decision. For these reasons the Club offers Associate Membership.

What is an Associate Member?

An Associate Member can enjoy the benefits of belonging to our club without the need to make the full commitment of a Rotarian.

As an Associate Member, you will be encouraged to participate in club meetings, community service opportunities, social events and club visits. You will have the opportunity of joining a club committee, and become involved with our community work and fundraising activities.  You will also be allowed to wear a Rotary badge as an Associate Member.

The main difference in this level of membership is that whilst you will be able to particpate in club business discussions, you will not have a formal vote on club matters.

A Way of Finding Out What Rotary is all About

Associate Membership enables potential members to “try before you commit fully”.  Many people are unaware of the full extent of Rotary, and by joining as an Associate Member it is a way to find out more before fully committing to joining Rotary as a full active member.

What is the Attendance Commitment?

Generally an Associate Member should endeavour to come to an event at least once a month.  Events can include the usual weekly meeting, fundraising events, social or even committee meetings.  The more that a person gets involved, attends events etc, the more that they will discover what Rotary is all about.

What Does Being an Associate Member Cost?

The cost is a nominal £25 per annum plus of course your meal and drinks cost and any social events.

Can an Associate Member become a Full Rotarian?

Suitable candidates will be enrolled by invitation from the club for an initial period of 12 months with consideration, thereafter, on an annual basis. There is the opportunity to apply for full membership at any time should you wish to do so. This follows our normal application process.

Interested?

So if you would like to make new friends, enjoy social activities, network with a wide range of business and professional people and get involved in community work then you may be interested in becoming an Associate Member of our club.

If you are interested, why not give it a try.  We would be pleased to meet with you, answer any questions you might have and explain in more detail what Rotary is all about!

Please email to find out more at membership@invictarotary.org.

We look forward to hearing from you.
