Fun at the Workhouse!

Workhouse Fun

On Wednesday, the 21st. of February, Club members gathered the Workhouse Gym at the Cambrian Centre, Queens Road, on Richmond Hill to take part in a sponsored Exercise Decathlon; with the aim of raising funds to buy equipment suitable for use by physically challenged members of the local community.

The event was organised by the Club's Vocational Chairman, after two of the gym Supervisors, Jill and Janet had spoken, as after dinner speakers, to club members as to the aims and aspirations of this Charity run Gym.

The three main fundraisers were Rotarian Sue, Honorary Member Mo and regular guest Simone who all rapidly completed their ten tasks under the able supervision and advice of Janet, Jill and Bill;; the three gym supervisors who came in to advise, supervise and encourage the Rotarian participants.

Participating members arrived during the course of the evening and were supported in their physical exertions by comments and advice from earlier arrivals. Some of the exercising participants excelled themselves, as shown in the photos, despite a variety of physical challenges.
