President Bill Jones welcomed thirteen other members, and reported that the club officebearers and their opposite numbers at the Helensburgh Garelochside club had held a further meeting about the possibility of the two clubs amalgamating.
A simple questionnaire about possible amalgamation will be sent to the members of both clubs in the next three weeks.
Adam Muggoch reported that there had been a good response to the Young Photographer of the Year competition, and that the Young Baker competition would be held in Hermitage Academy next Tuesday afternoon.
The Special General Meeting followed. Mike Jane was elected President Elect 2017-18 (President 2018-19); a Junior Vice-President for 2017-18 is required; and Secretary Donald Fullarton and Treasurer Lesley Kennedy confirmed that they were willing to continue in office for 2017-18.
Gordon Burgess and Mike Jane, as 2017-18 President and President Elect, were elected Voting Delegates to attend the Rotary GB&I Annual Conference, with the Secretary and Junior Vice-President as Deputies. It was agreed that the Voting Delegates should vote according to conscience in electing a Nominee for the office of Rotary GB&I President 2017-18.
Treasurer Lesley Kennedy then presented the Club Accounts for the year to June 30 2016. Adoption was proposed by Dave Campbell, seconded by Bill Jones, and there was no counter-motion.
