President Bill Jones welcomed twelve other members, and annunced 6hat nt6he Doistr5ic6 Governor `handover Lunch will be held at the Glynhill Hotel, Renfrew, on Sunday June 25, at 1 for 1.30pm, price £25. Completed booking forms must be returned by Friday June 9.

On the amalgamation with the Helensburgh Garelochside club, the president said that all the officebearers must be in place by the District Assembly on Sunday May 21. The first president will be Gordon Burgess, with John McPherson likely to be the secretary and Norman Quirke the treasurer.

Douglas Dow thanked all who took part in the can collection at Helensburgh Co-op on Saturday, and said that some £350 had been raised for the club (and New Club) youth activities.

Jack Rudram reported that Lucy Bowie of St Joseph's Primary School had won the District 1230 final for the junior section of the Young Writer competition, and goes forward to the national final. President Bill presented her with her district plaque and certificate at the school on Friday (pictured above).

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Graham Smith, and the monthly raffle — this time for a bottle of Speyburn 10 year-old single malt whisky from Speyside — was won by Gordon Burgess.
