Supporting Step by Step

Club support to Step by Step

The Club recently donated £1000 to Step by Step, an Aldershot based charity serving Hants, Surrey, Berks & Dorset.
Established in 1989, the charity’s aim is to support young people facing challenges in their lives which could lead to them becoming homeless. It takes them through a series of steps designed to help them achieve their full potential by
• taking control of their lives
• learning to trust others
• increasing their self-esteem
• realizing their potential
• developing new skills
and so become an active and successful part of their community. Providing accommodation is often the first step, but when this is settled the focus then shifts to the counseling and training. Over 1500 youngsters between 11 and 25 take the steps each year.
The charity is mainly funded by local authorities, but relies on donations to maintain its full range of services. Hart Rotary is pleased to have provided support to this work.
