The SWIMATHON is not a marathon, but a fun event. No team or individual is being asked to swim an unduly long distance. The event involves a team swimming continuously for 55 minutes with only one member of the team being in the water at a time. Swimmers aged 10 to 80+ can take part.

Organising your team
Ideally, your team should have 4 members who need to be prepared to swim at the event and also be responsible for collecting sponsorship. Sponsorship forms and information for each of your team members can be downloaded from this page.  We will organise everything at the event, even down to printing a certificate for each swimmer.  After the event you send us the money you collect and we send you a cheque for 50% of the sponsorship monies raised by your team. The other money raised goes to the charity selected by Rotary in this case, the Swindon Down's Syndrome Support Group.

Fund raising with help...
Anyone who has organised a jumble sale, quiz night or golf day knows that fund raising by organising events is time consuming and difficult. Enter a team for the Swindon North Rotary SWIMATHON and you avoid all the hassle of organising the event. Simply turn up with your team on the day, hand in your sponsorship form and cheer your team on. We count up how much your team have obtained in sponsorship, verify their forms and send them back to you to circulate to your team. Once we receive your sponsorship monies we send you a cheque to the organisation you choose.

Your SWIMATHON team can collect their sponsorship on-line by using the Rotary Club's BT My Donate facility.
