2017 Annual Sponsored Walk

Sun, May 7th 2017 at 11:00 am -

A fully marshaled route for charities and community groups to raise funds for their own causes.
8 or 5 mile route from Snelsmore Common Country Park
Start (sign in) between 11AM and 12AM. Finish when you finish.

This years annual sponsored walk will start and finish at Snelsmore Common Country Park. The Park Entrance and Car Park are on the Wantage Road 4 miles north-west of Newbury Berkshire RG14 3BQ (nearest, Mary Hare School opposite). The main walk route which is about 7 and a half miles, will take in Donnington Castle, Bagnor and Winterbourne. It is a scenic and interesting route almost all of which is on good paths, with just a little being on roads which are in any case quiet.

There will also be shorter, easier walk route of about 5 miles.

There are toilet facilities at Snelsmore, a number of hostelries on route and hot drinks and refreshments will be available on your return.

As in previous years you are asked to start between 11am and 12 noon and the walk will be fully signed and marshalled.

We would be very pleased if you could join us and through sponsorship raise money for your own charities and good causes.

You are also welcome to just join us and give a donation to Newbury Rotary Charities which include End Polio Now, West Berkshire Mencap, WB Young Carers, Parkinson's, the Stroke Association and other local charities.

It would be helpful if you let us know that you intend to come but just turn up on the day is also fine. If you need sponsorship forms or further details please call Eddie Webb on 01635 42027 or email walk@newburyrotary.org. Alternatively for sponsorship forms follow this link 2017_Sponsorship_Form
