Looking back on our first six months as a chartered Rotary club. Since our charter at the end of August 2016. we have grow to 24 members, and knitting together nicely thanks to constant badgering by Ian Kerr our President.
Meeting the 1st 3rd and 5th Wednesday each month on-line can be difficult, but it is amazing how our members manage it considering we log in from all parts of the world. While we in Europe, are enjoying a beer or wine at out meetings some in the east, New Zealand and Australia are having breakfast, where in the,USA, lunchtime coffee is the usual tipple
The atmosphere is very friendly, the banter flows, and the speakers are superb. My job talks by the members are the bes,t but we have had some very interesting speakers you can watch all our meetings on you tube. The fasinating was space exporation, the histroic was Norberts talk on Auschwitz, and the funniest was retired Captain Brian Shadler telling us about his flying career in OZ and Asia.
We also have carried out a communal activity when we held a young carers day at our local airport, Many our the members took part, all on the same day in various parts of the world.
We each contribute to foundation in our own country and our community service is carried out at a local club
Here looking forward to 2017
