After the celebbratory meal, the Governor of Rotary District 1040 (Yorkshire), Rotarian Phil Poole, spoke about Rotary's part in the world-wide polio eradication campaign, and the every growing demands on Rotary to provide hands-on and financial support for those in need in our own communities and farther afield. The toast to the Rotary Club of Filey was given by Rotarian Don Graham, President of Scarborough Rotary Club, followed by Rotarian Denise Whetton presenting a framed picture to Rev'd David Garnett, President Susanne's husband in recognition of his support during the current Rotary year. The response to the toast to our partners and guests by Rotarian Graham Tillotson was given by Lion John Sellers, President of Filey Lions Club.
The evening was rounded off with wonderfully versatile entertainment by pianist and raconteur Frank James.
