We welcomed new attendee, Adele, from National Grid, we are delighted to see a new face. We also had guests from Leamington Regency Rotary Club - Linda and Rosemary who came to inform and enlighten us about "Rise against Hunger". A really interesting and great project which warrants our collective support in Rotary district 1060 and within our zone. Collectively they are aiming to raise £12,000 and get 120 Rotarians, friends and family to help pack and assemble 10,000 meals for distribution to starving and worthy destinations. The meals have a two-year shelf life and supplement basic subsistence diets in 3rd world destinations. We could be involved with Kenilworth School as the venue, our Interact club and with all the fellowship of our surrounding Rotary clubs and Rotarians. It sounds like fun fun fun and when we don't have to worry over food and nutrition now is our chance to do something positive that helps supports and wins friends. I urge everyone to look on the Internet at Rise against hunger to learn more and have questions answered.
Band Hatton Button will be running another inter professional/
service organisation quiz to be held at the Holiday Inn on Thursday 12th
October in support of Zoe's place Hospice as the nominated charity. The cost
will be £17.50 to include entry, food and the quiz with additional funds being
raised through raffles and money spinning ideas with the support of gifted
raffle prizes and other prizes. Please all note!!!
Thanks we given to " big Jim" and Leon for the
fantastic effort and dedicated team who put on and supported the Minecraft even
at Kenilworth School. A great result with amazing talent from year 7 to 9
pupils who are a great credit to their School, their parents and more
importantly themselves for their confidence, abilities and attendance at the
event. The funds raised were a great credit to all concerned and a worthy
project for the Thursday Rotary group who will receive our support when they
run a similar type of event perhaps in February or March.
