Major Del Hamilton entertained the Club with an excellent presentation on the Army Recovery Capability in Scotland Unit based in Gilmerton on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Del explained the setup of these personnel recovery centres throughout the UK and the vitally important work that they undertake in the planning, organisation and delivery of rehabilitation treatment which is provided for severely injured servicemen and women who have lost a limb or both limbs during service. Many of those who attend these centres go on to make full recoveries in the sense that they are able to return to work and most importantly get back to living as normal a life as is possible after the trauma of war.
President Dave presented a cheque for £250 to Del Hamilton for Army Recovery Capability in Scotland
