Assistant Governor Elect Heather said how pleased she was with the welcome from the members so thanks for this – please find attached a copy of a photo of Heather with some (not all ) of the members in attendance. Thanks also to Donald and Helen for carrying out reception duties.
In what I would imagine is a first for our club, the meeting commenced with a facetime link up with “The Vigo Five”, namely President Dave, John, Ken , Robert H and Alex live from holiday in Vigo – This worked very well, many thanks to Martin and Ken for organising this – All five looked like they were “relaxing” very well on holiday and this was a great start to the meeting.
In addition to the assembly, Stephanie conducted the monthly prize draw - In first place was Roger Hall , and in second place was … myself !
Robert North won the wine draw and was pleased to win in the period between fundraising events so he could actually keep the wine
Brian Mitchell gave an update on the first two galas attended by the club this year – Crossford and Cairneyhill – well attended by club members and the public alike – It was great to see Joan Borland at the Crossford gala and we hope to have Joan along at the club soon to give us a talk and a hands-on try at origami. Many thanks to all , but in particular Brain and Ewan for all of their work in respect of the galas.
George gave us an update on the Am Am golf, although figures have still to be finalised, over £2000 has been raised from the event – Once again thanks to all involved but in particular George and Ian Grieve.
Ian also gave us an update on the fun golf event which has been rescheduled to 10th July following the weather postponement from earlier this month.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday with President Dave back in the chair, with Aileen and Brian on reception and our very own Ken Cowe giving his vocational talk. Douglas Scott will give the Vote of Thanks.
