March Diary

   March already with only 9 months till Christmas and only 3 months left for me. 

   Well what’s happened?

   It started as normal with the table top sale in aid of Haylands Pre-school and raised £168 in addition to their tombola, raffle and own items.

which I presented a cheque to them on the 30th March.

   Another fund raising event was a bingo night organised by Margaret Stone who is a supporter of Rotary and donated the money raised over £480.00 to us. This is going to Shelter Box and I accepted the offer of another bingo night for next year, so please can committees think about what the money can be used for and who will arrange the prizes and help next time???

We had a visit from John Adams from Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary Club, to explain the planning of the inaugural 2017 Dorchester Marathon, and to ask for support. He presented an interesting talk and some offers from our members pleased him.

At club we agreed to help fund the supply of some blinds for Little Dragons Pre-school  I visited on the 30th March and presented them with a cheque for £272.00 and they will contact me when fitted to view them.

This moth we sent 2 students from IPACA to undertake the Breakthrough which involves 3 days walking across Dartmoor, we hope to have them give a talk in the future.

I take this time to thank everyone who have helped to attend, help, bake cakes, move furniture, cook bacon, and other jobs!
