Rotary Club of Bexhill Spring Lunch at St. Mary's

Some eighteen members and spouses from RC Senlac supported the Rotary Club of Bexhill’s annual Spring Lunch at St Mary’s School. On another beautiful; spring day over a hundred people enjoyed a three course carvery lunch prepared by the school’s staff. President of Bexhill, Geoff Longmire, welcomed everybody and announced that the profits from the lunch would be shared equally between Senlac’s Yellowmen and Foundation’s EndPolioNow campaign. Following the lunch the Yellowmen made a short presentation introduced by Roger Young. Barbara Thomas spoke about her fundraising events and announced her retirement from sponsored events ( and a very big THANK YOU, Barbara for all the hard work you have done, physically and mentally, in raising £1000’s for the Yellowmen) , and Mike Stewart spoke of the work done by the Yellowmen during their visit in February. Mike then presented John Wilson of Bexhill Rotary with a Pokot walking stick in appreciation of the Janet Wilson Educational Foundation he set up in memory of his late wife.

During the proceedings raffle tickets were being snapped up at speed, this raised in the region of around £400.  Including the raffle, the whole event raised about £1,200 according to the event organiser Bexhill Rotarian John Cooper, which will be equally split between the two charities.
