TASK
Tandridge Academic Support for Kenya
TASK was registered as a charity in 2010. The trustees, Tabitha Cherrett and her husband Tony, are assisted by Tabitha’s mother in Kenya and local schoolteachers. Their aim is to support poor families and their children through secondary education which otherwise would not be possible.
In 2013 Tabitha came to talk to our Club about her charity and subsequently we agreed the sum of £1000 to fund the education of one child for 4 years. A girl called Neema was chosen and since then we have been receiving regular School Reports on her progress. Not only that, but in late 2016 one of our Club members (Mike Jakeman and his wife Anne) were in Kenya on holiday and took the opportunity to meet Neema to find out first hand how she is getting on.
