Our speaker on the 26th April was Leslie Milton, minister of Cambuslang Parish Church who was talking about his experiences working in Mozambique in the 1990's.
When he arrived in Mozambique the country was one of the poorest in the world, and was just emerging from a devasting civil war. Leslie was able to give us a fascintating insight into what it was like living in a country that was stuggling to establish itself as a democracy whilst coping with poverty and natural disasters - whilst he was there the country was hit by catastrophic flooding which killed many and destroyed much of the arable land.
It was clear that Leslie had thoroughly enjoyed his time in Mozambique making lasting friendships which had led to a recent visit by two Mozambique ministers to Cambuslang Parish Church.
