Thu, Jun 22nd 2017 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Weekly meeting with guest speaker

The Rotary Club meeting last week had President Jim Walker in the chair and he welcomed Les Williams from Llanelli (a keen Scarlets supporter) the guest of Ron Smith to the club.
Past President Robin Mason introduced the speaker Emma Baker, Gretna, a reporter and presenter with Border TV's 'Border Life' programme.  She gave an illustrated presentation showing her previous experience in the ITV News Team in London and Norwich before her move in 2014 to Border TV to set up Border Life. It includes a wide variety of subjects which feature in the programmes covering the whole region.  An interesting question and discussion session followed after which President Jim gave the vote of thanks to Emma for an excellent talk.
On Wednesday evening President Jim represented the club at the High School prizegiving when the Rotary Club prize for modern studies was awarded to Lucy Thomson.
