Fellow Rotarians.
You
and your partners are invited to join a Club visit to Marley Cote Walls
Farm, Slaley on Wednesday, 5th July where the Baynes family will be
giving us a free tour of their farming systems.
The visit
will start promptly at 6 p.m. with coffee / tea on the viewing area
where the Baynes family will explain about their farming, cows and
systems. We will then go down to see the robotic milking system in
operation before finally visiting the milk processing plant where they
will talk about the 'Northumbrian Pedigree’ story. There are a couple
of short videos on their websites which give a preview of what you will
see.
The
farm visit will last about 90 minutes following which we
will immediately head to the Travellers Rest where I have reserved the
whole restaurant area for a two course meal.
It is anticipated that this visit may be popular and as numbers are strictly limited I will only be taking bookings on receipt of an £8 /head non-returnable deposit.
£5 of this deposit will be offset against the cost of your meal (I
have already had to pay this £5 over to the pub) and the other £3 will
be a donation to the Farmers' favoured charity - Lifespan Complementary http://lifespan-charity.com
Further details regarding location and menu will be circulated to those attending nearer the time.
