Tonight we welcomed in the new Council Team for the next Rotary year ahead.
Duncan symbolically passed the Presidential chain to Jan Cooper - our first lady President !
Jan presented the President Elect chain to James Watts and James gave Amber Slamaite her President Elect pin. Thank yous and welcomes were given in abundance.
Duncan introduced 2 trophies to the Club
1. a silver plate for the Biggest Contribution to Club Administartion for the Year - presented to a stunned Sian Franklin - also
2. a Trophy for the Biggest contribution to Projects for the Year - presented to a modest Mike Smith for his work on Peace Activities, Homeless Football and our Naalarami School Project.
Tim Law, who joined the club 6 months after its original charter, has decided to step down from full membership after nearly 51 years of active service. We were delighted to make him an Honorary Member. Richard de Horsey gave a tribute to their long friendship and years of shared fun and fellowship in the Club.
The Club joined our Musical Troupe singing 'He did it His way' (Duncan), Hail to the Chief (Jan) and For He's a Jolly Good Fellow (Tim) with great enthusiasm. !
We were also delighted to Induct our newest member to the Club - he is a past District governor and transfers from the Diss Club - Welcome Trevor Sayer.
We are now well launched into our new year of activity.

Charities are invited to submit grant applications - annually we give out over £30,000 - Fill in a Form and make your case ! Our next round of donations will be given in early 2024. THANK YOU to all applicants.
