Report on our District Quiz Final

Kilmarnock Rotary were responsible for organising our Primary Schools Quiz District Final on 23rd May 2017. It was again held in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall which proved an ideal venue with very helpful staff and we are grateful to them for their support.

Twenty teams made it through to the Final from as far afield as Stranraer, Bothwell and Campbeltown, and all points in between - Annick, Bothwell, Cardross, Dalintober, Garnock, Greenmill, Heathery Knowe, Houston, Kelvinside, Kilbowie, Killearn, Kings Park, Kirkcolm, Nether Robertland, Our Lady of the Missions, Symington, Troon, West Kilbride and Whitehirst Park.

In the end the winners were Houston Primary with 97 points out of a possible 120 - they had led almost from start to finish. In second place were West Kilbride on 92 followed by Kelvinside on 85 and our congratulations are due to them and indeed all the teams which reached this final.

Many thanks to all the teachers and supporters without whom such an event would not have been possible. Our thanks are also due to Kathleen and John Tuck and their merry band of helpers who attended to all our catering requirements.
