Creative writing is a special gift that not all are blessed with, and to be able to write poetry is a special talent. There are talented young people and many who have the ability to develop this talent and this competition enables Rotary to promote and encourage the creative writing of young people.
This competition is open to young people aged 17 or under on the 31st August and is split into three age categories:
Contestants are challenged to write or type a Fiction/non-fiction/story/poem of up to 500 words on a given theme.
The competition is held to enable young people to:
Tara af Forselles, a pupil at Highworth School in Ashford, won the Rotary GB&I national award in the intermediate class of the Young Writer competition in 2017.
