Young people from our town have achieved much in recent months

Over 60 Rotarians, students, teachers and parents gathered at the North Hants Golf Club to celebrate the achievements of this year's entrants to Rotary GB&I competitions.  Rotarian District Governor Frank West, and District Young Photographer organiser Sandy Duck, presented certificates and trophies to contestants as follows:

Young Chef – Miranda Watson from St Nicholas School was placed 3rd in the National Young Chef finals out of 5000 entrants

Young Writer – Bethan Gwynne also from St Nicholas School was the winner at District Intermediate level

Young Photographer
Fleet schools swept the board winning through to District level in all age categories.
 - Theo Roose, Salesian College.
 - Emily Pritchett, Calthorpe Park School
 - Charlotte Robinson, Elvetham Heath Primary
In late news, Theo won 2nd prize at National level

Rounding off an entertaining and instructive evening, District Governor Frank said “The achievements of young people in Fleet and Church Crookham Schools are truly outstanding.  They reflect a high level of creativity and imagination.  Well done students, families and teachers.  Additionally, congratulations to Fleet Rotary Youth Team for facilitating these achievements, also their involvement in such programmes as Model United Nations, Fleet Fun Walk, and Interviewing Skills programme"
