The final fundraising event of 2017-2018 Rotary year
The final fundraising event of the 2016-17 Rotary year was hosted by Rotarian Richard Wragg and his wife Sue on Friday 2 June.
They served coffee and cake during the morning, followed by tea and cake in the afternoon. Home-grown plants and home-made jams and cakes were on sale throughout the day.
To add to the fun, Rotarian Barbara Harker organised a 'name the bear' competition (a Stieff bear). The photograph shows Sue (on the left) choosing the winning name whilst Barbara held the bear. The name chosen was 'Rupert' which was picked by Peter Banks who now has the bear as his prize.
The other photographs show Rotarians Edward Handley, John Cheetham and Chuck Blankenship enjoying the event with other guests.
A magnificent sum of £809 was raised thanks to the hard work of Richard and Sue, in particular, and the support of Rotarians, partners, friends and acquaintances.
