Operating 130 light aircraft, Mission Aviation Fellowship flies into over 1,600 destinations worldwide. Dirt, grass, water or mountain airstrips in some of the most remote and inhospitable places, an MAF aircraft is not a luxury but a lifeline.
In 1986 Swedish Rotary Clubs raised enough money to buy a Cessna 206 for MAF. Thirty one years later the plane is still flying, transforming lives in remote villages of Tanzania by transporting medical supplies and services to isolated communities, in many cases unreachable any other way.
MAF recently enabled a mother with conjoined twins to be flown to hospital - after an initial journey on the back of a motorbike - to save her babies.
