David provided us with a lot of interesting statistics about the work of the organisation.
It costs £177M per year to run, all raised from the public and other donations. The Severn design lifeboat operating in the north east is the 'Spirit of Northumberland. It did many rescues last year, the furthest out being 108 miles.
A Sharma design lifeboat costs £2M and inshore D class lifeboats £250,000.
170 people died around the British coast last year.
David does a huge amount of work raising funds and organising other groups to do so and he was warmly thanked by Gordon Coxon.
