Club Visit to ShelterBox HQ, Truro

Thu, Sep 28th 2017 at 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The normal club meeting has been cancelled for a visit to ShelterBox HQ.

A visit to the new Disaster Relief Visitor Centre. The visit is in the diary for the evening of the 28th Sept 6pm – 8.30pm.   A meal will be provided; it will be either a hot or cold buffet at a cost of £13 per head..   In view of car parking it would make sense for members to car-share.

The visit will be with Alex Youlten their Rotary Partnership Manager and Lucy Carr their Rotary Engagement Officer.   The Disaster Relief Visitor Centre is designed in such a way as to give a brief overview of current operations on a screen and to replicate the processes of the Operations team when you enter. It then takes you on journey demonstrating the different types of aid we provide and details a variety of different deployments. A volunteer or member of staff will be able to answer any question
