Dunblane City- A Dementia Friendly Community

A dementia friendly city is made up of the whole community with everyone committed to working together and helping people with dementia to remain part of their community and not APART from it. This involves learning a little about dementia and doing very simple and practical things that can make an enormous difference to people living with the condition.

Breda Seaman is the volunteer co-ordinator for leading Dunblane to becoming a Dementia friendly city. A retired NHS manager she is transferring her knowledge and skills supporting this project.

Bonnie Mc Dowell is a Registered Nurse and former lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University. She is currently employed by the Presbytery of the Church of Scotland as the project lead for dementia friendly churches.

We will share our exciting journey to date with Rotarians.
