The speaker at the meeting on 10 April 2014 was Martin Boiling who spoke on The Woodland Trust. This is a charity set up 45 years ago and now has half a million members. The aim is to PROTECT natural woodland, RESTORE natural woodland from coniferous forests and CREATE new woodland. This will not only create a woodland environment but encourage animals, birds, wild flowers and butterflies.
There is a 640 acre site at Langley Vale, south of Epsom, which is being developed. The Trust is supported by big business such as Sainsburys, IKEA and W.H.Smith as well as smaller organisations and individuals.
