Brian, who spoke to us on 6th July, has spent most of his working life in the hospitality industry working in South Africa, the Far East and lately in the UK mostly with large hotel groups. He is the Founder and Chairman of the East Berkshire Executive Job Club, dedicated to helping more mature candidates find work or change career direction in these increasingly difficult times. Since 2009 they have helped over 450 people in their job search.
He founded the East Berkshire Executive Club approx 10 years ago as a 'self-help' group for people who found themselves searching for new jobs after many years in successful postions. Almost by definition these people have little recent experience of networking, completing CV's and job interviews and need coaching to find their way around the system.
The Club was founded as a charitable exercise with minimal funding (from Government sources) and all of the Club members are volunteers. The Club is supported by some local companies but is now looking for new funds to continue and expand.
