Speaker - RYLA candidates Riona and Caitlin.

Our two 2017 RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) candidates, Caitlin Ryde and Riona McAllistair, came to the club tonight and told us all about their adventures at the week-long camp in July. An excellent presentation by the girls whose enthusiasm was an inspiration to us all. A week of raft building, canoeing, gorge walking, rock climbing, wild camping, and high ropes, took a lot out of them but it was clear to see the pride they both had in their individual achievements. T...eam bonding, leadership, and communication skills were only a few of skills they have obviously developed, not to mention the new friendships forged from across the south of Scotland.
Our picture shows both girls together with the High School's new head teacher Mr Jamie Bryson, our club youth chair, Dr Jan Henderson, and our Club President Ferdous Ahmed. Our thanks are clearly extended to Mr Bryson for his continued support of our youth development goals.
