Geoffrey Probert, the current High Sheriff of Suffolk talked to members about his duties and responsibilities. The office of the High Sheriff is over 1,000 years old and the year of office starts in April each year.
The High Sheriff is the Sovereign's representative in the county for matters relating to the judiciary and the maintenance of law and order.
Geoffrey also spoke about the Suffolk Community Foundation which is responsible for directing
monies donated by individual and businesses to one or more of the 2,900 local charites in Suffolk.
