Scenes of devastation on the British Virgin Islands caused by Hurricane Irma, the subject of BVI vet Sarah Western's talk to the club. She and her husband were attending a wedding in Europe at the time and have not so far been able to return home due to the shortage of food, water, electricity and shelter; even their house is uninhabitable.

The Club supports many youth activities including "Crucial Crew", a vital educational programme about safety for year 6 schoolchildren in Ipswich, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), Rotary Young Chef competition and supplies Dictionaries 4 Life.
