Visit to Manchester Town Hall

On the first Thursday, the 5th October  , we will be having a bespoke guided tour of the superb Manchester Town Hall, courtesy of our member, Councillor Hugh Barrett. A big thank you to Hugh for facilitating and undertaking this.

 Members are aware that the Town Hall will close in January 2018 for some 6 years for a £multi-million refurbishment. Thus, this will be one of the last opportunities to visit this iconic building before it’s closure.

 We will meet outside the main, Albert Square, entrance at 11.00.

 Afterwards, my suggestion is that after the tour, we withdraw to the café in the (also iconic) Central Library (itself refurbished a few years ago). To quote from the Library website:

 Café - serves a wide variety of local specialities to suit every appetite, find us on the ground floor.
