Presentation to Life Path Trust

On Wednesday 4th October, a giant Connect 4 game and cheque for £100 were presented to Life Path Trust on behalf of Kenilworth Rotary Club by Diane Miller, Membership Chair, Corporate Member Louise Sheepy from the Holiday Inn Kenilworth and James Miller.

In August, 16 year old James spoke to Rotary about his experience of organising a community project as part of 'National Citizen's Service’.  He was leader of a team of 12 young students, who had to make a presentation about their 'social action project' to a panel of ‘Dragons’. The aim was to secure an award of £30 to be able to carry out their project. This was to help raise funds and encourage more volunteers for 'Life Path Trust', a local charity that supports people with learning disabilities. 

When we learned about the work of Life Path Trust, we in Kenilworth Rotary Club wanted to make a donation to support them.   James, who had spent a day with the young people at Life Path, suggested that they would really like another game for their sessions, hence this gift of a giant ‘Connect 4’ game!

We contacted Big Game Hunters (BGH) who very kindly offered to contribute 50% to the cost of the game.  Hannah Davies from BGH told us:

The generous contribution from Big Game Hunters meant that in addition to the Connect 4 game, Kenilworth Rotary are pleased to be able to present a cheque for £100 to Life Path Trust.   Club President, Jonathan Miller, said that he hopes that this will be the start of a positive working relationship between Life Path Trust and Kenilworth Rotary.
