Meeting 12 September 2017

DG visit

At our 12th September 2017 meeting we were very pleased to welcome Robert Lowick, District Governor.  Robert talked first about his early life in the police, then with Bird's Eye, and back to the police.  He was then a medical photographer for 9 years.  His wife, Roberta, supports palliative care for carers, working with Marie Curie, Macmillan and James Paget hospital.  Robert's club is Great Yarmouth Haven.   He reported that it is becoming difficult to find members willing to take on ADG roles.

Robert commended us on not closing when the number of members became precarious.   He recommended getting help from younger people to design leaflets and websites, and suggested using social media to reach a larger audience.
