Planting 6,000 crocus bulbs in Abingdon's Albert Park

The Rotary Clubs in Abingdon had their Great Crocus Plant yesterday - the nearest weekend to world Polio day.  We planted a total of 6,000 corms in Albert Park in the centre of town which should create a splash of colour in February next year,to remind the town of Rotary's determination to eliminate this disease from our planet.

Our District Governor (David Pope) was in attendance and we also had a representative of our local town council, Monica LOVATT; she had been a polio victim in her earlier years.

We had planters of all ages (including some Rotatots - under 5's).
