Charlie Russell speaks on the Kent Little Owl Project

Little Owls have suffered a 65% population decline nationwide in the last 25 years and this project aims to support the Little Owls in Kent, providing them suitable nesting boxes and bolster their population within this county.

As part of the project, Little Owls in this scheme will be monitored, alongside the land they live on, to help identify the cause/s for their decline.

The project will raise awareness of the Little Owl amongst the general public as well as working with orchards and other agricultural areas to encourage sustainable practices to the benefit of Kent’s Little Owls.

Construction of the boxes is charitable (costs ~£20 a box) and we aim to put up and monitor up to 20 nest boxes every year.
