Board Meeting, March 8th:

The next car parking will be on Saturday.
Sunday, March 18th - Clay Pigeon Shooting:
Go along and have a go at clay pigeon shooting at Greenfields Shooting Grounds, Sturry Hill, CT2 ONG
Thursday, March 22nd - Evening Meeting:
This is a regular meeting of the Club and apologies should be given to Godfrey as usual.
Friday, March 23rd - Walk4Water:
Walk for Water is tomorrow week. Car parking at the University is restricted by building work, so everyone please try to car-share if possible and don’t forget to bring mobile phones.
Friday, March 23rd - Lunch after Walk4Water:
Hilary is organising lunch after Walk4Water. Everyone is welcome to come along to the Blean Tavern, 4 Blean Hill, Blean, CT2 9EF where lunch is booked for 1.00 pm. Hilary needs to be able to give the Blean Tavern numbers and menu choices in advance so please contact her as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
Friday, April 6th – Club Quiz Evening:
This has been organised for Friday, April 6th at 7.00 for 7.30 pm. It will be a Club get-together and quiz with light refreshments at a cost of £8.00 per person; drinks will be extra and available from the Golf Club bar. Everyone and guests are welcome but there is a maximum number of 36 that can be comfortably accommodated and groups will be limited to six.
Saturday, April 21st - TWAM Collection:
David M. has circulated posters for the TWAM collection and everyone is asked to do what they can to see that these are put up around the area.
Sunday, May 6th - Olde English Cream and Strawberry Tea:
Ron and Irene are very kindly organising an Olde English Cream and Strawberry Tea at their new home at 4 Richmond Road, Whitstable, CT5 3HS between 2.00 and 6.00 pm on Sunday, May 6th – not May 13th as originally announced. There is a form in the folder.
Sunday, July 15th – Summer Beach BBQ:
Please note that July 15th is a Sunday and not a Saturday as originally announced. There is a revised form in the folder.
Whitstable Harbour Day, Saturday, August 11th
Two spaces have been booked and at the next meeting of the Board it will be necessary to decide what ideas to do on the day. This should be a really good day but volunteers are needed for the stalls and a form will be put in the folder.
September 7th to 9th – District Conference:
The District Conference this year will be held in Canterbury and everyone is encouraged to join in. There is a programme on the District website.
RC Herne Bay:
Please note that the venue for meetings of RC Herne Bay has been changed from the First and Last to the Heron beside Herne Bay station.
Promotional Materials
David M. is producing some Club promotional materials but he stressed that these need to be regularly updated and anything that is unused needs to retained and stored carefully for future use. District is offering Clubs pull-up banners for use at the conference and details should be given to Hilary.
Lego-Builders Club:
The Lego-Builders Club thanked the Club for the donation. It is really taking off in Herne Bay with 15 children out of a maximum of 21. They hope to start a new club in Whitstable soon.
Greetings from Other Clubs:
There were greetings from RC Canterbury Forest of Blean and from John Truscot of RC Saffron Waldon.
Disability Aids:
Pippa and Spyros are collecting unwanted disability aids for dispatch to disabled people overseas and if anyone has any to dispose of please contact them.
Events Folder:
Could everyone please mark their name with a (X) if they are unable to take part in an event in the folder.
Master of Alms:
Paul was back in good form and managed to lift something from almost everyone.
Raffle:
Jean M. won a box of chocolates and Hilary won a bottle of beer.
