KNIGHTON ROTARY SUPPORTS PENSIONERS CHRISTMAS LUNCH

On Monday December 18th at the Knighton Methodist Church incoming Knighton Rotary President Ivan Jones presented Sister Margaret Davis with a cheque for £250 to provide Christmas gifts for the nearly 60 pensioners and helpers at the annual Churches Together Christmas Lunch. President Elect Ivan said “Knighton Rotary Club is pleased to be able to support this annual event and give something back to the community.” Sister Margaret added “This Lunch Club, run by Churches Together in Knighton, is held here every Monday and allows the older citizens to weekly enjoy a meal, a chat and the companionship that is often missing in their lives. This Christmas lunch is something everyone looks forward to and it could not be held without the support of the Rotary Club”. She added “ The lunches also could not be held without the help of a band of willing volunteers and their support is highly valued.” You can read more about Knighton Rotary and Knighton Churches Together on their websites.
