Nepal Water & Sanitation Project Majhitar-Thulotar


Through the support of more than 40 Rotary Clubs in District1010 some 574 villagers in 98 households in the Nepalese village of Majhitar-Thulotar are benefitting from the provision of 25 tap stands,50 latrines and innovative health and hygiene programmes.

Co-ordinated by Elgin Rotary, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, the project is being implemented by NEWAH, the Nepal Water for Health Group and is the seventh water project in Nepal led by Elgin Rotary, supported by clubs throughout District1010 and strengthened by Rotary International grants.

For the villagers of Majhitar-Thulotar in the Nuwakot District, some 4 hours north-west of Kathmandu, the project, to be completed in March 2018, is providing employment and is already delivering health and hygiene benefits. A party of 24 Rotarians and partners from some 7 clubs in District1010 will visit the village in March 2018.
