Jan 2018 Report on Lend With Care Project so far

Mon, Jan 15th 2018 at 9:00 am - 9:00 am

Co-ordinated by Rtn Alan Franklin.

We have been extremely pleased with the results of being involved in this Project.

We have introduced it to several schools in the area who value what the financial, geographical and social impacts teach their students.

The Lend With Care website allows individuals and organisations to give microfinance support to entrepreneurs in poor areas of the world to kick start or expand their businesses and help grow their local economy.  Each request is carefully vetted by local agents who guage the likelyhood of repayments being made on time.  The website feeds back statistics to the lenders to keep them up to date with each of the projects they have chosen to support.  The repayment of loans is extremely high.

The system means that the money loaned to the website is used again and again to help as many people as you decide on.  If you decide to end your involvement in the project any money left can be withdrawn to be used elsewhere.

After several years in the project the Cambridge South Rotary Club   £1,500 originally invested has been equivalent to £5,153.

178 loans have been made.

658 entrepreneurs have been helped

2456 family members have benefitted

278 jobs have been created.

We have donated £224 to the website to support its admin costs.
