Charity Supper supports ShelterBox

Wadebridge Rotary Club members enjoy a candlelit supper to raise funds for ShelterBox

£550 was raised at a quintessential Candlelit Supper prepared, cooked and served by Nick & Jane Pickles of Polzeath (ably assisted by Trevor & Margaret Wiltshire).

This magnificent event was sponsored by Wadebridge Rotary Club and attended by an eclectic mix of like -minded souls who enjoy both good food and wine along with a genuine desire to support ShelterBox, Cornwall’s international Emergency Relief Organisation.

Those in attendance enjoyed Home smoked Loch Duart salmon pate, Beetroot cured salmon with dressed fennel and beetroot salad followed by Supreme of free range chicken, Creamy Mushroom and pancetta sauce, New potatoes and pan seared seasonal vegetables and to top it all off Sticky Medjool date toffee pudding with Caramel sauce and cream – yum, yum, yum!

Guests numbered just 31 and after eating this superb meal, a Raffle was held – generously supported by, among others, Tesco, BP Wadebridge, Davey’s Electrical, Wadebridge Wines, Dutton Butchers of Wadebridge and Peter & Sandra Barrow – which added to the money raised from the delicious Candlelit Supper resulted in the magnificent sum of £550 destined for ShelterBox!

Wadebridge Rotary Club is very proud to have played a small part in this event and want to thank everyone who bought tickets and contributed in all manner of ways.  For the Club’s next event - a “Charity Race Night” to be held on Friday 2 March at the Betjeman Centre, then please see details of how to obtain tickets elsewhere in the next edition of the North Cornwall Advertiser or this link on the Club web site:
