Purple for Polio Afternoon Tea

Sat, Feb 24th 2018 at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Club held a very successful Purple for Polio event in St Andrews.

In the morning some members sold Purple Crocus Pins on the streets of the town whilst other members prepared the hall and the goodies for an afternoon tea in Hope Park and Martyrs Church Hall.
It proved rather cold outside but fortunately the sun shone and in the afternoon around 50 people enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea.

It was a lot of hard work and a long day but with more than £1,000 being raised on the day, to add to other funds already collected, proved very worthwhile especially as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will give £2 for every pound we raise.
Many thanks to the members who helped on the day, those who provided items for the tea and to all who bought tickets and attended. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
