Rotary Purple4Polio Motor Tour of Britain check in at Drumlanrig Castle with Thornhill Rotary Club.

An eventful day spent at Drumlanrig Castle with Thornhill Rotary Club where we are staging a checkpoint for four days for the Rotary Purple4Polio Motor Tour of Britain. There are 25 such checkpoints all round the country, and Monday's clutch of arrivals here were from Lancashire, Nottingham, Perthshire, St Andrews, Huddersfield and Bangor (N Wales). Quite a few classic motors among them, and it was good to meet other Rotarians for whom winning the fight against polio is a very important cause. The sponsorship donations each of the 46 teams are raising will be matched £2 to £1 by the Bill Gates Foundation.
