Looking back on our year 2017/18

Although our club members live in all parts of the world, we have found some interesting ways of fulfilling our Rotary commitment.

As a small club of 26 members still in its infancy, our members range from New Zealand to Perth Scotland.

This year we managed to give a fun day to young carers.

50 young carers at a total cost of £5000 enjoyed a fun day in New Zealand, Australia, England and Scotland all on the same day, 20th May 2018

Involving 18 planes and pilots, together with ground volunteers we held an Aviation day for young carers in May

These youngsters give up so much of their time to help a family member that it seemed such a small reward for them giving THEIR time so willingly

As one young lad said, 'it was the best day of my life.'

We also bought two shelter boxes and our members donated approximately £3700 to Foundation

We also enjoyed a host of speakers with talks ranging from, space travel, exploring the jungles of South America, building replica WW2 aircraft, and accompanied by a host of pilots and members speaking about their careers and  experiences.

Our founder President Ian Kerr becomes our 1st Past President in July 2018 and is succeeded by Lance from the Gold Coast Australia. We are all looking forward to next year.
