Primary School Art Competition 2018

Great response from local primary schools to the 2018 Art Competition

The prize-giving evening for Cambuslang Rotary Club’s Primary 7 Art Competition was held on Wed 9th May. This was the second year of the competition with over 150 entrants from 8 Cambuslang Primary Schools. The pupils were asked to design a poster on the theme of Summerfest 2018. The Club also gave each school a donation to go towards the cost of art materials.

The posters were all of a very high standard but after some hard deliberation the judges selected a winning entry from each school with the overall winners prize going to Francesca Fairweather & Eilidh Lamb from West Coats Primary.

All the prize winners, along with their parents and teachers were invited to attend the prize-giving evening held at the Kings Park Hotel where they were joined by club members, friends and special guest Mr John Edgar, the Summerfest chair. The prizes were presented by Mrs Linda Neeson, and the ceremony was followed by a buffet supper and an opportunity for guests to admire the winning posters.

The winning posters will also be on display at the Rotary Club stall at Cambuslang Summerfest, on Saturday 16th June.

The full list of prize winners is
