St Leonard's Church Kids group members Martha and Fiona Baldwin and Christy Orr gave a presentation to Kilrymont St Andrews Rotary Club on their activities to raise funds to buy Life Straws which can filter water to make it safe to drink.
The youngsters said that over 780 million people have no access to clean drinking water and that 7 million people die every year from a lack of water and drinking contaminated supplies.
Life Straws, manufactured by a Swiss company, comprise a special filter which can make dirty water drinkable by filtering out over 99.9% of bacteria and parasites.
They have been used in parts of Africa where clean water supplies are limited.
The children's group has so far raised over £1200 by holding pancake breakfasts one Sunday a month at the church. They have also held baking sales, a community picnic and a sponsored walk.
The Life Straws cost £17 and the Swiss manufacturers work in partnership with Unesco.
The youngsters are also planning to raise money for the Fife Gingerbread charity which helps disadvantaged families.
Also speaking at the Rotary meeting were Amy and Natasha from MS Fife.
