Croquet at Llanfairfechan

A dozen finely honed athletes – six Rotarians plus partners – enjoyed an evening of croquet at Llanfairfechan on the evening of 19th June. In sunny but windy weather, the teams battled it out with impressive results, not that anyone remembered who had won or lost apart from DK, the President, who despite claiming to have never played the game before, quickly resorted to dubious tactics to ensure that he and his wife Sue won their competition 2-1. Grateful thanks are due to the dedicated committee of the Llanfairfechan croquet club who made us so welcome, and guided us in the rules and etiquette of the game. An excellent meal followed at The Fairy Glen Hotel, Dwygyfylchi, with the unanimous view being that we should repeat this outing next year.
